Fable's Tail Facts

Since my tail is more or less a trademark I thought I would answer some common'tail trivia' questions for you.

Q: Is it your real hair?
A: Yes.

Q: Was your hair all one length and you got it all cut but your tail?
A: No, I have always had short hair - I grew the tail separately.

Q: How long have you been growing your tail?
A: Since I was 14.

Q: How long is your tail?
A: It is about 19in long when unbraided and wet and about 18.5in long when braided.

Q: How long does it take you to braid?
A: About 2 minutes.

Q: How often do you braid it?
A: Every morning otherwise the braid is all fuzzy.

Q: Do you ever wear it unbraided?
A: Occasionally - on request but it has a tendency to get all tangled.

Tail pet peeves:

When people threaten to cut it off.
When people tug on it too hard.
When it gets stuck against the back of a chair and my back and I can't move my head.
When hair dressers try to comb the back of my hair and yank tail hairs out.

Random notes:

Hardly a day goes by when some stranger does not ask me about or comment on the tail. Old ladies have been known to go a step further and just pick it up and look at it. (That is always kinda weird)

When drunk or feeling frisky - people often pet or tug on the tail - typically exclaiming "I have always wanted to do that."

I usually find this really amusing as long as they do not tug too hard.
